About The Role

HappyCo is a company where people can grow their careers and work with like minded people, with no egos or politics. HappyCo is values driven and offers a flexible, supportive culture. Join HappyCo and Make Work Happy!

About the Role

You'll own product experiences end-to-end. From problem framing through delivery and iteration, embedded in a product triad with a PM and Engineering Lead. This is a high-autonomy role for designers who operate independently, think in systems, and are already building with AI – not just aware of it.

We're hiring across multiple problem spaces. Placement will be based on your strengths and business needs.

Problem Spaces You May Work In

Depending on product priorities and your strengths, you may work in one or more of the following areas

Procurement & Sourcing

Designing workflows for vendor discovery, pricing comparison, purchasing, approvals, and supplier performance across large multifamily portfolios.

Asset & Portfolio Performance

Designing dashboards, analytics, and scenario-modeling tools that help operators understand property performance, identify risks and opportunities, and improve returns.

These products are information-dense, highly interconnected, and used by multiple roles across an organization. Increasingly, they also incorporate AI-powered interfaces that allow users to proactively query their data, surface insights, and receive recommendations through agentic, conversational, and voice-enabled interactions. Designing clarity, trust, and usability into these systems, across both traditional interfaces and AI-assisted experiences, is core to the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Own a product area fully: discovery, design, delivery, analysis, iteration
  • Work backwards from real customer problems and translate complexity into clear, scalable solutions
  • Make data-dense, information-rich interfaces easy to use. Dashboards, workflows and AI-assisted experiences
  • Shape agentic workflows, conversational interfaces, and voice-enabled interactions where they improve outcomes
  • Make AI capabilities feel understandable, trustworthy, and usable – not just impressive
  • Use AI actively in your own process to move faster and think deeper
  • Run lightweight research, synthesize insights, and act as the evidence-backed voice for the customer
  • Champion our design system, contribute to craft standards, and raise the bar in every critique

What You Bring

  • 5–8 years shipping web-based SaaS or enterprise products at scale
  • Demonstrate end-to-end ownership with real shipped work, including AI-assisted experiences
  • You are actively using AI tools today. Claude, Cursor, Lovable, v0 – whatever fits your workflow. This is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • Strong systems thinking across complex, interconnected product surfaces. Furthermore, knowing when to lean on systems and when to break out of them. You balance rigour with creativity.
  • High autonomy. You move work forward without waiting for direction
  • Clear communication, comfort with ambiguity

Strongly Valued

  • Background in complex domains: analytics, operations tooling, procurement, marketplaces, or similar
  • Familiarity with agentic experiences
  • Comfort working close to code or prototyping with code
  • Multifamily or proptech experience is a plus, not a prerequisite
