PHY/RF Algorithms Engineer
Parallel Wireless · Kfar Saba
About The Role
Parallel Wireless is reimagining mobile networks with innovative, energy-efficient Open RAN solutions. Join us as we lead the future of telecommunications, driving innovation through green and sustainable networks. Learn more about our mission, vision and values.
People come to work at Parallel Wireless because we are building the future of telecom. They stay because they are challenged and driven by an incredible product and team. We take pride in our commitment to employee development, and our culture fosters an atmosphere of empowerment, trust, respect, and communication
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and passionate PHY/RF algorithm expert to join our RU Architecture & Algorithms team. In this role you will research, study, simulate, and invent new algorithms in the PHY and RF domains for our next-generation radio products — working on state-of-the-art problems alongside highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams.
A key part of our charter is bringing AI/ML-based methods into the RF/PHY domain, and you will help shape and realize that direction.
Job Responsibilities
- Research & invention — study the state of the art and conceive, develop, and prototype novel PHY/RF algorithms for advanced cellular radio products.
- Modeling & simulation — build MATLAB/Python models and run simulations to validate concepts, quantify performance, and de-risk ideas before implementation.
- Trade-off analysis — balance performance against implementation cost, real-time constraints, and time-to-market to converge on the right design.
- AI/ML for RF/PHY — explore and apply machine-learning and data-driven techniques to RF/PHY problems (e.g., neural DPD, channel estimation, interference/PIM classification, beamforming, and related areas).
- From research to release — drive algorithms from research and simulation through to an official release, including specification documents and hands-on support during implementation and integration toward high-quality deliveries.
- Collaboration — work with highly skilled architecture, system, firmware, hardware, and validation teams to bring algorithms into real products.
Job Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in PHY/RF algorithms development for wireless modems.
- An independent, self-driven individual contributor with excellent problem-solving skills, strong initiative, and the ability to own problems with minimal direction.
- Background or hands-on experience applying AI/ML to signal processing, RF, or PHY problems — a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of cellular standards and their implications on modem design.
- Good understanding of RF/modem partitioning and trade-offs, together with practical RF constraints and considerations.
- Previous experience designing Digital Front-End modules: CFR, DPD, up/down-samplers, etc.
- Previous experience designing algorithms targeted for RTL.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Eager to keep learning and growing professionally in the field of wireless communications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a global, multi-site environment.
Education
- M.Sc with a major in communication theory and systems and/or signal processing.
- PhD with a major in communication theory and systems and/or signal processing - Advantage
