Machining Shop –Skilled Worker – CMM Inspector

• The CMM Inspector is responsible for performing dimensional inspection of manufactured components using
• Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The role ensures that parts meet engineering drawings, CAD models,
• and customer specifications by verifying dimensions, geometries, and tolerances.

• Operate CMM equipment to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and CAD data.
• Conduct dimensional verification using additional manual measuring tools (micrometers, height gauges,

calipers, bore gauges, etc.).

• Record and analyze inspection results in accordance with company quality standards.
• Create and edit CMM inspection programs using software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar).
•  Load parts and fixtures on the CMM table ensuring proper alignment and clamping.
•  Calibrate CMM equipment as per schedule and maintain machine accuracy.
•  Generate inspection reports and maintain quality records.
•  Document any deviations, non-conformances, or defects found during inspection.
•  Communicate inspection results to production and engineering teams for corrective action
• Ensure inspection processes comply with ISO 9001 / API or relevant standards.
