About The Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with 2-3 years of experience working for a commercial or industrial general contractor, or
  • At least 5 years of directly related construction project experience without a degree.
  • Experience coordinating both self-performed construction work and subcontracted trades.
  • Understanding of commercial and institutional building renovation, including related site work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, email, and construction management software.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in active construction environments, including walking job sites, climbing ladders and stairs, and performing frequent site inspections.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
  • Current CQC certification.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Associate Constructor (AC) credential preferred.

Candidates who do not currently hold the required certifications may be eligible for a grace period of up to six months to obtain them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, schedules, quality control records, safety documentation, and project closeout activities.
  • Review construction documents and coordinate with technical team members to process shop drawings and other required project submissions.
  • Assist with change management by maintaining logs, obtaining pricing from vendors, preparing estimates, and developing change order documentation.
  • Support estimating efforts by performing quantity takeoffs using digital takeoff software, 3D modeling tools, and traditional methods.
  • Develop, update, and monitor project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software.
  • Coordinate project layouts by reviewing drawings, utilizing CAD information, and ensuring proper fit and alignment of project components.
  • Assist with negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Generate project reports using construction management and workflow software.
  • Identify potential project risks and work proactively with the team to develop solutions.
  • Help ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, safety regulations, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal departments, including Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
  • Support project closeout activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering efforts to improve project efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Attend team meetings, training opportunities, and professional networking events.
  • Travel to project sites within the assigned service area as needed.
