Manager – Business & Tax Advisory (China Practice)

About The Role

As a Manager, you’ll lead client engagements and act as a trusted advisor to China-connected businesses, delivering high-quality tax and business advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of China-connected clients, including mid-market businesses, private groups, and foreign-invested enterprises
  • Provide practical, commercially focused advice on cross-border tax, structuring, and international operations
  • Lead end-to-end engagement delivery, including scoping, budgeting, resourcing, and technical review
  • Oversee and review tax compliance and reporting to ensure quality and regulatory adherence
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (CFOs, founders, boards)
  • Identify and drive business development opportunities, supporting proposals and pitches
  • Collaborate across KPMG’s Australia, China, and global network
  • Lead, coach, and develop Consultants and Senior Consultants
  • Drive engagement performance, managing timelines, budgets, and utilisation
  • Stay current on China-related tax and regulatory developments and translate into client insights

How Are You Extraordinary?

  • Experience working with China-connected clients or cross-border engagements
  • Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and/or written) (highly regarded)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical advice into business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities and contribute to practice development

Completed CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
