About The Role

Role: Standard Room Incharge - IQC Location: Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra Reporting to: Functional Head Team name: IQC Team About the Team and the Role The Quality team at Ather is responsible for acting as the guardian of engineering precision and product excellence across our manufacturing operations. This role is for a Standard Room Incharge who will lead the metrology lab, ensuring every component meets exact engineering specifications through advanced measurement technologies, metrology programming for New Product Development (NPD), and maintaining robust calibration systems. Responsibilities Execute high-level inspection of parts using precision instruments including Trimos, Roughness Testers, Height Gauges, Hardness Testers, Micrometers, and Vernier Calipers. Create and validate CMM programs for existing and NPD parts while managing AMCs for CMM, Spectro, and Rondcom systems. Perform part alignment strictly according to engineering drawings and plan measurements using first principles and specialized gauges. Lead inspection and layout processes for New Product Development to ensure design intent is accurately captured in production. Verify and approve external calibration scopes/reports and manage internal gauge calibration schedules with suppliers. Conduct Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) studies with line inspectors and operators to ensure consistent measurement reliability. Maintain meticulous inspection records and present quality data during internal and external audits for compliance. Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve chronic component issues and optimize inspection workflows. Experience and Qualifications B Tech in a relevant engineering field. 7 to 10 Years of experience in metrology or quality assurance. Must Have Competencies Operation and programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and high-precision instruments like Trimos, Spectro, and Rondcom. Interpretation of complex engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Application of calibration standards and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) methodologies to ensure data integrity. Management of inspection records, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), and quality audit compliance. Good to Have Competencies Management of layout inspections specifically geared toward new product scaling and development lifecycles. Execution of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and root cause analysis for quality deviations. Development of team competency frameworks and mentorship of shift incharges and associates.
