About The Role

Employment Type:   Full-time - day shift only (mon/Fri)

Join us in delivering a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees.

The Clinical Team Leader (AOD) plays a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of AOD service delivery, ensuring the health needs of detainees with substance use disorders are met, including those receiving Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) pharmacotherapy.

  • Leading the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive, and person-centred AOD health services
  • Managing and supporting a multidisciplinary team, overseeing clinical operations, and driving continuous service improvement
  • Providing expert supervision, direct care, and leadership in assessment, withdrawal management, treatment planning, and harm reduction strategies
  • Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships while ensuring compliance with clinical standards, quality benchmarks, and effective resource management

Let's talk about you!

  • You will be an AHPRA-registered Nurse (General, unrestricted registration) with either a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in AOD (non-telehealth) plus a post-graduate qualification in AOD.   
  • OR
  • You will be an AHPRA-registered Nurse (General, unrestricted registration) with either a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a AOD Registered Nurse without a post-graduate qualification.      
  • Previous experience in healthcare leadership or management roles
  • Solid knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices, recognising that many individuals with substance use disorders have experienced trauma.
