About this opportunity
We’re launching an internal startup: a high-performing AI/API Management Platform on Rust . We’re looking for a founding engineer who will work directly with the founder and product owner to build the first production-ready version of the product.
The key point: we already have our first customer . The near-term goal is to deliver the first production-ready version and successfully roll it out to the client. After that, we’ll spin this into a standalone product with a dedicated team — and you’d have a real path to leading that team .
In 2026 we want to build the best AI/API gateway for the enterprise segment while entering the mid-market and appear in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for API Management as a Visionary.
What You'll Do
- Own End-to-End Application Development: Take full, end-to-end responsibility for designing, developing, and deploying the new high-performing API Management Platform in Rust , ensuring it is robust and scalable from its first line of code to production.
- Establish Production Readiness: Implement and manage the CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure required to move the application to a production-ready state, utilizing our cloud-native environment (Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform).
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Develop deep observability and monitoring, and take primary ownership of troubleshooting and resolving production issues to maintain peak performance and reliability for our initial customer and beyond.
- Drive Team Growth and Culture: Serve as a founding engineer, contributing to architectural decisions, conducting thoughtful code reviews, and laying the groundwork to eventually lead the dedicated product team.
