Backend Engineer (Team Atlas)

Join our engineering team as a Senior Backend Engineer in Team Atlas. You'll be responsible for building the data infrastructure that powers our feature computation platform, owning critical systems end-to-end, and making key architectural decisions. You'll work with Python on AWS and tackle challenges related to latency, reliability, and scale. Strong communication and collaboration skills, deep expertise in Python, and at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience are required.

• Concevoir, développer et maintenir des services backend en Python sur AWS, en mettant l'accent sur les fonctions Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora et les pipelines basés sur des événements.
• Assumer la responsabilité des systèmes critiques de bout en bout, de l'architecture et de la mise en œuvre au déploiement, à la surveillance et à la réponse aux incidents.
• Participer activement à la prise de décisions architecturales clés et à l'amélioration des processus de développement, en mentorant les membres de l'équipe et en effectuant des revues de code.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders on a shared vision
• Deep expertise in Python and building backend systems on cloud platforms (we use AWS)
• Strong system design skills — you're comfortable making architectural trade-offs and defending them
• Depth in at least one of these areas: data pipelines and storage, event-driven architectures, caching and performance, or serverless systems. You don't need all of them
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading complex projects in a senior capacity (2+ years)
• Apache Iceberg, AWS Athena, AWS Glue, or Apache Spark
• Multi-level caching strategies (Redis, DynamoDB, in-memory)
• Serverless at scale (Lambda, SAM, CloudFormation)
• Streaming / real-time data pipelines (Kinesis)
