Product Manager

Root Global · Berlin, Germany

About The Role

Join our team as a Product Manager and take ownership of our core product line, the leading platform in Europe for collecting farm-level data at scale. You will drive expansion into new markets and commodities, shape how our primary data product becomes the launchpad for everything we build on top of it, and report directly to our Head of Product. Enjoy benefits such as financial support for your move to Berlin, a minimum of 25 vacation days per year, an individualized learning budget, and more.

  • Ownership of the core product line, from discovery to delivery to ongoing maintenance, making decisions on what gets built and when.
  • Leading an engineering and design squad, managing tradeoffs, prioritizing across competing demands, and keeping the team focused on what matters.
  • Driving expansion into new markets and commodities, running discovery in new geographies, and shaping how the primary data product becomes the launchpad for everything built on top of it.
  • Appetite to go deep. Agricultural emissions methodologies are not light reading. You should be the kind of person who gets curious, not bored, when the conversation turns to calculators and data sources
  • Strong prioritization is your superpower. You can hold customer escalations, internal stakeholder asks, and long-term bets in your head at the same time, and decide what gets done first. You communicate those decisions clearly to engineers, designers, customers, and leadership alike
  • Some technical understanding. You do not need to write production code, but you should be able to reason about systems, data models, and the tradeoffs that affect what is feasible
  • AI-fluent. Modern AI tools are part of your daily craft - for discovery synthesis, prototyping, writing, coding. You also have a point of view on how AI reshapes the products we build
  • Builder mentality. You enjoy shipping. You would rather have something live and imperfect than perfect and unshipped
  • Bonus: a genuine interest in farmers, agriculture, or the food system. Not required, but it will make Monday mornings a lot more fun
  • Comfortable leading engineering and design. You know how to keep a squad moving, when to step in, when to step back. You can hold a productive conversation with both an engineer and a designer in the same hour
  • 2-3 years of product management experience, ideally at an early-stage B2B SaaS company that shipped at a high pace
  • 🤗 You don't feel like you fulfill all the criteria? We get it: confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But guess what?! There is no such thing as a “perfect” candidate. The only thing you need to ensure along the recruiting process and beyond is that the problem that we are solving with Root is one you cannot wait to get out of bed for on Monday morning!
