Health & Safety Director H/F

Join VINCI Construction Grands Projets Canada, a leading global construction company, as the Health & Safety Director. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for the project's Health & Safety program, develop and implement frameworks and policies, and promote a positive safety culture. You will also lead prevention initiatives, manage incident activities, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The project involves the refurbishment of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, requiring rigorous safety standards and coordination.

• Lead Health & Safety across all stages of the project, ensuring safety remains a fundamental project priority.
• Develop, implement, and enhance Health & Safety management frameworks, policies, procedures, programs and compliance initiatives to prevent workplace injuries.
• Promote the integration of Safety in Design (SiD) principles by collaborating with Design, Engineering and Construction teams to eliminate or reduce risks at source during planning and design phases.

Your skills

• Minimum of 20 years experience in the construction industry in a leadership role, preferably on large infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Regulations

COR Auditor certified

• Recognized professional EHS qualification, such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) Certification or equivalent
• Proven experience in tunneling or underground works, preferably with TBM operations
• Familiarity with safety management systems and incident reporting tools
• Experience working on projects with high-risk environments (nuclear, offshore, or similar)
• Ability to balance operational excellence, production requirements and safety objectives without compromise
• Heightened leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate and direct personnel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exhibit strong time management skills
• High attention to detail and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Strong cross-functional skills, working with the client, regulators, unions, subcontractors, and joint venture partners
