With four unique dining venues across our campus, our cooks prepare everything from restaurant-quality meals to fresh, made-to-order dishes and nutritious meals served in our healthcare and cafeteria settings. Every meal you prepare helps create a memorable dining experience for the older adults we serve.

⏰ Schedule

• 8-hour shifts scheduled between 5:00 AM and 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as scheduled
• 🍳 What You'll Do

As a Cook, you'll prepare high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.

Depending on your assigned kitchen, you may work in

• 🍽️ Fine Dining Restaurant – Prepare beautifully presented meals in an upscale dining atmosphere.
• 🔥 Made-to-Order Kitchen (Line Cook) – Cook fresh menu items to order in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• 🥗 Cafeteria/Healthcare Dining – Prepare nutritious meals in a high-volume setting that supports residents and healthcare services.

Responsibilities include

• Preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
• Setting up and organizing your workstation before meal service
• Cooking menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
• Preparing ingredients and planning for upcoming meal periods
• Maintaining proper food labeling, dating, rotation, and storage
• Following all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Safely operating commercial kitchen equipment
• Communicating inventory needs and product concerns with the Chef on Duty
• Completing cleaning and closing duties
• Working collaboratively with fellow cooks and dining team members to provide an exceptional dining experience

The ideal candidate

• Has a passion for cooking and preparing quality meals
• Enjoys working in a team-oriented environment
• Takes pride in food presentation and customer service
• Can work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and food safety practices
• Is dependable and adaptable to a variety of kitchen settings
• Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, hotel, or institutional setting is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

👨‍🍳Graduate of culinary school or have 1 to 2 years cooking experience in a health care setting, restaurant or dining facility.
