Forklift Operator - DG (2824)

Description

Summary:Responsible for efficiently and safely moving materials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Moves material to and from various locations using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or Forklift equipment.
• Pack labels and palletize materials as necessary.
• Loads and unloads materials from common carriers and verifies shipping / receiving information.
• Records inventories as required.
• May dispense contract work to individual work department sites.
• Performs other activities as requested.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Basic English communication skills and ability to perform basic calculations; sufficient primary education to understand and follow standard practices and instructions.
• Minimum of one year of experience in operating a forklift.
• The level of knowledge is generally below high school.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

• Qualifications:Must lift over 50 pounds, bend, and move materials as required.
• Language Skills:Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Spanish is a plus.
• Mathematical Skills:Must be able to perform basic calculations.
• Physical Demands:Must lift over 50 pounds, bend, and move materials as required. Able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Appearance/Personality:Organized, Dependable, and takes pride in the job.
• Work Environment: Able to work in a noisy factory or manufacturing environment, withstand heavy traffic, and tolerate floor vibrations.
