About The Role

Role purpose The Business Unit Director – Oncology is responsible for leading the oncology and hematology portfolio across Gulf markets, driving sustainable growth and maximizing the value of current and future assets. The role holds full P&L accountability and leads cross-functional teams across sales, marketing and market access to execute strategy, launch new products and build a high-performing, agile organization. Key responsibilities Strategic leadership Develop and execute the oncology and hematology business strategy across Gulf markets, aligned with global and regional priorities. Identify growth opportunities across the portfolio, including lifecycle management and new indications. Lead long-range planning, forecasting and portfolio prioritization. P&L ownership Own and manage full profit and loss responsibility for the oncology business. Deliver revenue, profitability and market share targets across the region. Optimize resource allocation to maximize return on investment and ensure financial discipline. Sales and marketing leadership Lead and integrate sales and marketing functions to drive execution excellence across diverse Gulf healthcare systems. Oversee brand strategy, campaign development and omnichannel customer engagement. Ensure strong field force effectiveness and customer-centric engagement with healthcare professionals. Product launch excellence Lead end-to-end launch planning and execution for new oncology and hematology assets in Gulf markets. Partner with global and regional teams to ensure successful localization of launch strategies. Drive rapid uptake and market penetration following launch, in line with compliance requirements. Cross-functional collaboration Partner closely with medical, regulatory, market access and supply chain teams. Ensure alignment across functions to deliver compliant and impactful business outcomes. Engage appropriate external stakeholders, such as healthcare institutions and relevant decision-makers across the Gulf region, in line with GSK policies and local regulations. Team leadership and capability building Build, lead and inspire a high-performing, diverse team across multiple Gulf markets. Develop organizational capabilities in sales, marketing and leadership. Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, innovation and continuous improvement, aligned with GSK’s values and Code of Conduct. Key qualifications and experience Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in a scientific or business discipline is strongly preferred. Extensive experience in oncology and/or hematology with a strong track record in these therapeutic areas. Deep scientific understanding of oncology, including disease biology, treatment paradigms and evolving clinical data. Proven ability to translate complex scientific insights into effective commercial strategies. Significant senior leadership experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial roles (sales and marketing). Demonstrated P&L management experience with consistent delivery of business results. Strong track record of successful product launches and lifecycle management in oncology. Experience in Gulf markets is highly preferred, with strong understanding of local healthcare systems, market access dynamics and regulatory environments. Established knowledge of key stakeholders in the Gulf region (e.g. health authorities, payers and leading oncology centers) is a strong advantage. Strong people leadership with the ability to build and scale high-performing teams in a multicultural environment.
