Automotive Car Runner

Car runners work with the service and sales departments moving vehicles around the dealership lot, retrieving vehicles for customers when service is complete and providing general clean-up work for the dealer.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

•  Prepare vehicles to be serviced by putting down mats and plastic to protect interiors, locate
• key tags and drive vehicles from the service lanes to the service bays.
•  Move vehicles not currently being serviced keeping parking/holding areas orderly so that
• vehicles can be easily located and moved.
•  Keep the service aisle lanes clean and free of debris.
•  Assist customers and co-workers with the rental/loaner vehicle intake/outtake process.
•  Drive vehicles through an automatic car wash system.
•  Retrieve newly-serviced vehicles for customers.
•  Provide general clean-up duties as necessary to ensure service, shop, customer, parking and
• traffic areas remain clean and orderly.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Education: Less than high school education
• Experience: No prior experience necessary
• Computer Skills: Ability to learn general computer operations.
• Certificates & Licenses: Must possess a valid driver's license. Must meet and maintain standards for
• driver acceptability as determined by the insurance company utilized by the dealership.
• Other Requirements: Must have the ability to learn to operate a standard shift vehicle. Must be neat
• in appearance and courteous to customers.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm
