Position Summary
- The LPN Nurse Administrator is responsible for the operation of the therapeutic component of the childcare
- program. Duties include but are not limited to providing training for childcare staff, providing direct nursing
- care to children, providing resources to parents, preparing required reports, conferring regularly with the
- Jaycee’s Early Learning Center Director and Delegating Nurse about center operations, complying with all
- applicable laws and regulations.
Working Days & Hours
- Scheduled Work Days: Monday - Friday
- Work Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hrs/wk)
- Location: Jaycee-Arc Partnership Jaycee’s Child Care Center
- Salary:$72,800
Position Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide skilled nursing care, including assessments, medication administration, treatments, monitoring medical equipment, and emergency interventions.
- Collaborate with parents, physicians, therapists, and the care team to develop and evaluate care plans.
- Support behavioral interventions with the Behavior Analyst and implement IFSP/IEP and nursing care plans.
- Monitor children's health through routine classroom visits and maintain accurate clinical documentation and required reports.
Training & Education
- Train and support childcare staff on the care of children with special healthcare needs.
- Educate families and caregivers on health-related needs and best practices.
Family Support & Advocacy
- Provide education, guidance, referrals, and ongoing support to families.
- Participate in enrollment assessments to ensure nursing and safety needs can be met.
- Promote the inclusion of children with special needs in an inclusive learning environment.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in staff training and continuing education.
- Demonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, follow safety protocols, and complete required training.
- Maintain reliable attendance, exercise sound judgment, and assist with student bus arrival and departure as needed.
Additional Duties
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Support community outreach, family recruitment, and health education initiatives.
Physical & Working Requirements
- Ability to lift and assist children up to age five.
- Provide proof of negative TB screening (PPD or chest X-ray).
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond professionally in a fast-paced environment.
You are the Ideal Candidate If
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a LPN degree and licensed in Maryland or a compact state with at least 2 years of clinical experience, one of which must be in pediatrics. NICU/PICU, home care or community health experience desired. Current first aid, infant, child and adult CPR required.
- Must be able to pass criminal background investigation.
