Job Title: Medical Virtual Assistant (Front Desk | Mental Health)

Position Type: Full-time

Work Hours: 9:00 - 6:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time

Work Days: Monday to Friday

Salary: $5 - $6 per hour depending on experience

About the Role

Our client is a U.S.-based mental health practice that provides therapy, counseling, and medication management services. They are seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant (Front Desk) to support daily operations, including patient intake, insurance verification, prior authorizations, email management, and front desk tasks. This role is ideal for someone with healthcare administrative experience who is comfortable working with patients and insurance-related processes in a mental health setting

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient intake processes
  • Process prior authorizations
  • Monitor and manage incoming emails
  • Conduct basic insurance verification during the intake process
  • Check patients in according to the clinic's workflow
  • Answer phone calls and assist with front desk operations as needed

Requirements

  • Healthcare administration experience
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes
  • Experience with patient intake processes
  • Strong English communication skills both written and verbal
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to learn and follow front desk workflows
  • Proficiency in AdvancedMD

Nice-to-Have Background

Experience in any of the following roles or settings is an advantage

Basic requirements

  • Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
  • Must have relevant work experience
  • Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
  • Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)

Technical requirements

  • Device: Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
  • Internet: High-speed connection (minimum 25 Mbps).
  • Audio: Noise-canceling headset.
  • Video: Webcam for virtual meetings.
  • Workspace: Quiet, professional environment.
