About the Role
As an In-Home Support Specialist, youâll provide individualized, person-centered support to adults with ID/DD living independently within their local community. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and values building strong, respectful relationships.
Youâll support individuals with daily living skills, community engagement, and goal-based activities, helping people thrive in their homes while promoting independence and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, person-centered support in individualsâ homes and community settings
- Support daily living skills such as routines, household tasks, medical appointments and community participation
- Assist individuals in working toward personal goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
- Monitor health, safety, and overall well-being, reporting concerns as needed
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in agency systems
- Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, families, and other service providers
- Respond appropriately to incidents and follow agency and DDS protocols
