Medication Technician (Med Tech) – Personal Care Home
Christ the King Manor- Dubois
Are you a compassionate and reliable caregiver who takes pride in helping others? Our warm and welcoming Personal Care Home is looking for a Medication Technician to join our care team!
As a Med Tech, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive the highest quality care. You’ll be responsible for safely assisting with daily living activities, medications and supporting residents with kindness and respect.
Shifts
3:00 pm -11:30 pm
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance according to health care provider's orders
- Educate and supervise resident who self-administer medication such as subcutaneous and oral.
- Maintain awareness of medication interactions and side effects
- Monitor health, safety, and well -being of the residents. Report any changes in resident's physical condition and/or behavior to Administrator.
- Maintain resident records regarding medication distributions, leisure activities, incidents, and observations.
- Properly store medication and equipment and keeps the medication room clean and orderly.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and eating.
- Encourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities. Promote activities to enthusiastically to pique residents' interest.
- Assist in keeping the environment safe for residents.
- Respond to resident emergencies; provide first aid assistance
- Assist with finding staff for call offs and assisting with scheduling as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications and requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Complete state certification for medication administration
- 1 year experience preferred
- Meet state related requirements.
- Must meet CTKM pre-hire requirements
- Ability to work in a team setting and be a team player.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional approach with coworkers and residents.
- Possess excellent customer and organizational skills.
- Must be available to work every other Weekend.
