About The Role
As a dedicated Field Property Adjuster Specialist, you will
- Work within defined guidelines to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle complex property insurance claims.
- Confirm/analyze coverage, recognize liability exposure, and negotiate equitable settlements in compliance with state regulations.
- Use technology and desk adjusting for a virtual-first approach to inspections and claims handling.
- Be provided a company vehicle for physical inspections within your local territory and may travel outside the area when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of complex claims, requiring knowledge of claims coverage and potential legal liability.
- Collaborate with vendors, internal partners, and external regulators for claims resolution and compliance.
- Investigate claim damages using various sources and identify subrogation potential.
- Identify coverage concerns, review prior loss history, and create Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals as needed.
- Determine and negotiate claims settlements within authority limits; coordinate with management for settlements beyond limits.
- Maintain accurate and current claim file documentation.
- Utilize estimating technology and virtual inspection tools for complex claims.
- Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations, including on-call duties and potential travel.
- Handle various claims, including high complexity, and independently solve complex problems.
- Adjust claims involving attorneys and address jurisdictional challenges.
- Travel as needed for claims resolution, training, and inspections.
- Identify and manage risks per company policies.
Must Have Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years experience in property claims adjusting of moderate complexity.
- Advanced skills in estimating losses with Xactimate or similar platforms.
- Experience handling high-severity claims (fire, water, vandalism, etc.) in the field.
- Proficient knowledge of residential construction, claims contracts, case law, and state regulations.
- Strong negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve problems.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% locally and non-locally and participate in catastrophe duty as needed.
- Obtain insurance adjuster license within 90 days (up to 3 attempts).
- Experience working for a standard insurance carrier handling claims from start to finish.
- May require successful completion of a job-related assessment.
Nice to Have Qualifications
- Residential property field adjusting experience.
- Proficiency with estimating and virtual inspection tools like Xactimate, ClaimXperience, XactAnalysis.
- Insurance designations such as AINS, CPCU, AIC, or SCLA or working towards them.
- Active Property & Casualty adjuster license.
- US military experience or military spouse/domestic partner status.

- Salary range: $69,920 to $133,620, based on experience and location.
