About The Role
- MAIN JOB PURPOSE
The Wet Chem Laboratory/AAS Technician will be responsible for analyzing assigned samples in the most accurate, productive and timely manner according to the relevant test method and work instructions.
- REPORTING LINE
You will be reported to the Senior Chemist/lab supervisor
- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all analytical functions to support laboratory activities in an enthusiastic and professional manner, in accordance with procedures to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Perform all analyses according to documented methods and work procedures.
- Work in an organized and orderly manner to optimize laboratory performance.
- Check all laboratory equipment according to a specified procedure.
- Effectively supervise staff to achieve optimal production levels.
- Maintain a high level of laboratory maintenance.
- Responsible of instruments at the Wet Chem. Section like the AAS, ICP , UV , LECO and XRF.

4.1 Safety
- Ensure that the required PPE is worn at all times
- Ensure that correct hygiene procedures are followed
- Ensure that a high level of housekeeping is maintained
- Report all incidents and accidents to the supervisor or management
- Ensure that SMS Q&HSE procedures are implemented and followed
- Be diligent in ensuring safety while performing tasks
4.2 Operational
- Actively participate in all shift activities recommended by supervisors to ensure that customer processing requirements are met
- Report all necessary maintenance work to ensure normal operations
- Maintain a clean work area and assist with scheduled cleaning and maintenance work
- Ensure that all analytical methods are followed according to specified instructions
- Report all application issues related to instruments or instrument management
4.3 Quality Control
- Assist in the proper maintenance of records and control systems for all documents
- Ensure that all non-conformities are noted, repaired, or reported as required
- Update equipment/material maintenance records
- Ensure that all solutions/standards are properly labeled
- Ensure that dispensers, scales, and hot plates are checked every shift
4.4 Administration
-  Keep management informed of problems within the laboratory.
-  Notify management when an item is running low on stock.
-  Participate in training as needed
-  Maintain good relationships with all clients.
- Maintain good relationships with all relevant government authorities and community.
 
- EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
5.1 Education
- Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
5.2 Experience
- Have at least one year of experience in a similar position.
5.3 Skills
- Technical knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Understanding of wet chemical analysis
- Ability to operate all equipment and instruments within the section like AAS,ICP,UV and XRF.
Other Info
- Preferred second language as English
- City based commercial operation shift rotation scheme if not local employment
- Flexible working hours as required (with arrangements in advance)
- Often require to attend emergency service calls
