SENIOR SURVEYOR

Key Responsibilities Conduct topographical, contour, and boundary surveys Establish and maintain survey control points and benchmarks Perform layout marking for: Roads Buildings Foundations Pipelines Transmission structures Verify elevations, alignments, and coordinates during construction Operate survey instruments such as: Total Station DGPS/GPS Auto Level Drone survey systems (in some projects) Prepare survey reports, drawings, and as-built documentation Coordinate with: Civil engineers QA/QC teams Site execution teams Consultants and contractors Ensure survey accuracy according to project specifications and safety standards Monitor earthwork quantities and measurement records Support billing measurements and progress verification Required Skills Strong knowledge of: Surveying techniques Coordinate systems Leveling and traversing Construction drawings Experience with software like: AutoCAD Civil 3D GIS/survey processing tools Ability to read structural and civil drawings Familiarity with large industrial/power projects Qualification Usually one of the following: Diploma in Civil Engineering ITI Surveyor trade <B.Tech/B.E>. Civil (preferred for senior positions) Experience Requirement Typical NTPC/EPC contractor expectations: 5–15 years of surveying experience Experience in: Power plant projects Industrial construction Infrastructure projects Prior work with EPC companies is highly valued Common Employers on Many surveyors work through EPC contractors such as: BHEL Larsen & Toubro Tata Projects Shapoorji Pallonj Site allowance Food/accommodation Travel benefits Work Environment Primarily site-based Rotational shifts may apply Outdoor work in industrial environments Strict safety compliance required
