POSITION TITLE : Quality Assurance (QA) Unit Head REPORTS TO : Solutions Delivery Head DIRECTLY SUPERVISES : Quality Assurance (QA) Unit UNIT / DEPARTMENT : Solutions Delivery Department DIVISION : SBF Information Technology NEW OR EXISTING ROLE? : ☒ New ☐ Existing JOB SUMMARY The QA Manager is responsible for enterprise-level quality governance, testing standards, and release assurance across all IT initiatives. The role ensures quality risks are proactively identified and mitigated prior to production deployment. The role is responsible for managing the QA Team and the end-to-end process of software testing from different platforms. The role is expected to plan, implement, and manage varying forms of Software Quality Analysis and Testing to and from different platforms, applications, and / or environments. The Primary Focus of the Quality Assurance Unit Head are Enterprise-Level Quality Standards, Risk Control, and QA Capability. Specific areas of responsibility are Quality Accountability and Governance, Portfolio-Level Oversight, People and Capability Management, Stakeholder and Executive Interface, and Strategic Planning. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Key activities and decision-making areas TYPICAL TARGETS & MEASURES 1. QA Governance Framework Define testing standards, entry/exit criteria, defect severity classification, and release gating controls. · Escaped defect rate · Audit compliance · Release quality index 2. Portfolio Quality Oversight Monitor defect trends and implement preventive quality controls · Attrition rate · Performance rating distribution · Skill development progress 3. Capacity, Financial, and Vendor Management Forecast development capacity, allocate resources, and manage vendor performance. Ensure efficient utilization and budget adherence. · Resource utilization rate · Vendor SLA adherence · Budget variance 4. Risk and Stakeholder Management Escalate delivery risks and represent development function in governance forums and steering committees. · Timely and accurate reporting, and mitigation of risks and issues 5. Other Technical Ownerships · Oversee coordination with different stakeholders to gather QA/testing and ensure its availability, integrity, and completeness. He/she must ensure the wholeness of the testing. Oversee the communication of quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to proper entities. · Oversee all QA testing initiatives, activities, and/or projects. · Review and own best practices for all software quality assurance and testing projects, including methods, automation tools, templates, scripts, and other materials needed for testing. Own and implement preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality assurance and standards are achieved. Draft and implement quality assurance policies and procedures. · Oversee planning, creation, conceptualization, design, gathering, doing, acquisition and ensure all resources for testing are available and ready. Create, develop, and identify procedures and scenarios for the quality control of software, packages, services, and alike. · Ownership of the management of risks and potential impacts of the whole testing life cycle for the entire team. Oversee and ensure the success of testing of the team by directly validating results. · In-depth understanding of QA and testing cycles, including but not limited to process flow, scripts, automation tools, etc. · Lead and manage the entire QA team and its outsourcing. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Years of Work Experience: More than 10 years Educational Attainment: Bachelor's Degree Required course (if applicable) : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or any other related IT course, Business, Management Required Certification /Professional License (if applicable): Quality Assurance Certification/s, Systems Analysis and Design, and related QA Technical Certifications are advantageous Field of Specialization (if applicable): Systems Analysis and Design, QA Management, Project Management, Business Analysis Knowledge and Skills Requirement Educational Attainment Bachelor's / College Degree Field of Study Computer Science/Information Technology, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce, Finance/Accountancy/Banking Job Specialization Audit & Taxation, Banking and Financial, IT-Software, Process Design & Control, Quality Assurance Industry Accounting/Audit/Tax Services, Banking, Financial Technology/Fintech, Information Technology Technical Skills: · In-depth skills using MS Applications especially MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint. · Intermediate to advance understanding of Systems Analysis, System Analysis and Design (SAD) SDLC, waterfall, Agile delivery, Scrum Master, AWS Expert, Project Management, and Process Improvements. · Working production experience and understanding of hardware, software and mobile technologies · In-depth skills using MS Application especially MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint. · Professional understanding of UAT, Manual, Quality Assurance, Mobile, Cross Browser Testing, Sprint Demo, Sprint Planning, Agile concepts. · Professional understanding of databases and applications such as but not limited to Java scripting, MS SQL, Oracle etc. · Professional understanding of SQL (standard-query-lang), scripting languages. · Professional ability to develop scripts for testing.
