Telephone Operator

• Responsible for the prompt and courteous response to all incoming call signals, including
• emergency signals, and paging system.

Job Duties

• Answers incoming call signals promptly and courteously, in the order in which they are
• received.
• Must give progress reports, when caller is waiting on the line (every 0 to 40 seconds).
• Responds to Code calls (Cod Blue, Emergency, etc.).
• Responds and follows up on any inter-hospital calls.
• Responds and transmits all overhead and beeper paging.
• Maintains all records pertaining to the Telephone Operator work assignments (Patient
• Telephones, Emergency Calls, Long Distance Calls, Code Blue, etc.)
• Performs all other duties as required.

Formal Education Desired (not required) criteria include

• This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a
• minimum of 1 year job-related experience.
• Minimum one year experience with telephone company or
• hospital experience.
• Fridays from 8am-4PM.
• Hourly rate $27.2835
