Image Processing Engineer

Description -

The Imaging Lab conducts research related to image and color processing, including image quality improvement, IQ evaluation, imaging pipeline architecture design, and solution development. Through this announcement, we are seeking candidates to lead Color matching engineering and Image quality analysis and evaluation.

The Imaging Lab designs and optimizes Print/Copy/Scan image quality improvement algorithms and evaluates Print/Copy/Scan image quality to propose and analyze optimal image quality goals. In addition, we are developing a commercialization solution including OCR and applying it to commercialization. We are applying the latest image processing algorithm technology in various research fields and are also developing solutions using recent AI/ML technology.

The Imaging Lab is operated by the HPPK Site and Boise Site as in the same lab, and HPPK and Boise members collaborate on various tasks. In addition to Boise, we are collaborating with several overseas sites such as Vancouver in US, Singapore, and India, so you can experience exchanges with many overseas developers to broaden your knowledge and work scopes. In addition, since we work in the overall area of Print / Copy / Scan, there is a lot of interaction with various partner teams (FW / Engine / ISA / ScanJet / QA, etc.), so you can experience a wide range of work areas.

This job change is for Print/Copy/Scan CMS engineer to secure competitiveness in product image quality. As HPPK has recently expanded its responsibilities to include A4 Ent business in addition to A3, the need for additional CMS engineer has arisen. This position offers the opportunity to not only generate color tables for commercialization but also to learn in-depth color technology and grow into a specialized professional. Furthermore, it can serve as a basis for expanding into various other fields within the lab.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize of Print/Scan/Copy quality.
  • Develop Color table for productization.
  • Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies, debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
  • Analyze and optimize Color matching algorithm for improving image quality
  • Collaborate and communicate with Product development teams, HW, PQ and TME teams regarding productization and filed color issues.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic engineering techniques, especially image processing or SW engineering skills are preferred, but not required.
  • Typically 5-10 years experience,

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of basic engineering techniques
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English and local language
  • Basic coding skills, but no expert-level required
