About the Role

The Senior Project Accountant plays a key role in supporting procurement efforts within CDC for ongoing construction activities, overseeing all financial aspects of the design and construction of our Data Centre builds. This position collaborates closely with our Development and Finance teams to prepare, reconcile, and analyse construction projects, delivering insightful financial analysis to both internal and external stakeholders.

Other duties include

  • Attend monthly Project Control Group Meetings with internal CDC and external stakeholders to identify and address commercial and accounting issues affecting project costs.
  • Provide detailed cost analysis for multiple projects, contributing to effective Capex decision-making.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, variance analyses, and Project Accounting reports for timely distribution to the Board and senior stakeholders.
  • Act as the key contact with suppliers, proactively addressing invoice and financing issues.
  • Analyse complex cost scenarios, providing astute and concise advice and commentary.
  • Support the Development team with ad-hoc queries and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

About You

This role would be suitable for a CA/CPA-qualified candidate holding demonstrated experience within Project Accounting, Quantity Surveying, or Contracts Administration. Exposure within the construction field, or adjacent industries, is highly desirable.

  • Highly-motivated, strong communication skills, and an effective team player.
  • Ability to set and manage deadlines across shifting environments.
  • Previous experience in forecasting across ambiguous and changing environments.
  • Proactive, self-starter, eager to learn and develop within the industry.
  • Ability to develop key stakeholder relationships, drive outcomes, and determine sources of truth.

Essential

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.
