Associate Principal Engineer, 5G, RRC,QXDM

REQUIREMENTS  

• Total experience 9+ years.
• Strong experience in 5G Network Testing, Protocol Validation, and End-to-End Telecom Testing.
• Hands-on expertise in 5G L2/L3 protocol analysis including RRC, NAS, MAC, and RLC layers.
• Strong experience using QXDM for protocol tracing, log analysis, debugging, and issue investigation.
• Experience in End-to-End testing of 5G NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) solutions including test planning and execution.
• Strong understanding of 5G network architecture, call flows, procedures, and protocol stack behavior.
• Hands-on experience with test setup preparation, execution, and troubleshooting in telecom lab environments.
• Experience working with UE emulators such as Viavi and Keysight for protocol and interoperability testing.
• Experience identifying automation opportunities and driving telecom test automation initiatives.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for failure analysis and root cause identification.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, design, and execute End-to-End testing activities for 5G NTN solutions and deployments.
• Perform protocol-level analysis and troubleshooting across L3/L2 layers including RRC, NAS, MAC, and RLC.
• Analyze QXDM logs to investigate network issues, protocol failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Develop and drive test strategies for NTN-based network validation and certification activities.
• Execute test cases, analyze failures, perform root cause analysis, and track defect resolution.
• Prepare, configure, and maintain telecom test environments and test setups.
• Utilize tools such as Viavi and Keysight for UE emulation, protocol validation, and interoperability testing.
• Identify automation opportunities and contribute to the development of automated test frameworks and test suites.
• Collaborate with development, integration, and system engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Prepare test reports, validation summaries, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and product quality.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related fields
