About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious International Tax Assistant Manager to join our growing International Tax team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of multinational clients, supporting them with their global tax compliance obligations and advising on a broad range of international tax matters.
Working closely with directors and partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services while developing strong client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for
- Assisting with managing the corporate tax compliance process, including tax reporting, for a portfolio of multinational clients.
- Supporting global clients with their international tax compliance requirements.
- Assisting with international tax advisory and structuring projects.
- Liaising with the Grant Thornton international network to coordinate cross-border client work and respond to technical queries.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing practical commercial solutions.
- Undertaking technical research on complex international tax matters.
- Preparing reports, technical advice and client correspondence.
- Assisting with proposals, tenders and business development opportunities.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues across the international network.
- Supporting and coaching junior members of the team where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have
- CTA qualified (ACA or ACCA qualification desirable).
- At least 2-3 years' post-qualification experience within a corporate tax department of a professional services firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax legislation and international tax principles.
- Experience working with multinational groups or internationally focused businesses.
- Tax reporting experience, including a good understanding of deferred tax and tax accounting, would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of intellectual property regimes and Research & Development tax incentives would be beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to build trusted client relationships.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive approach, strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
