Acute Care Assistant - ICU

The Acute Care Assistant p rovides compassionate patient care and clinical support to promote the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients throughout their care experience. This position w orks collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to support the delivery of quality patient care by assisting with routine clinical and unit support activities. The ACA c ontributes to a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification

• High School graduate or GED certificate required .
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required .

Knowledge /Experience

• One (1) year of experience as a Nurse Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) required.

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to accurately document patient care activities in the electronic health record.
• Ability to prioritize workload and respond effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to safely assist with patient mobility and transfers using Safe Patient Handling equipment and techniques.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency using standard office and clinical technology.
