Building Maintenance

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance or designate, the Building Maintenance Person

• is responsible for all scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs of building systems and equipment such as: power-operated equipment, hydraulic systems, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Performs routine cleaning, painting, maintenance, and repairs of facility.
• Performs minor lawn care and snow removal.
• Performs Basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
• May work with Facility Maintenance Specialist on coordinating work projects of outside contractors.
• Responsible for completing all required documents and reports for work performed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Age

21+.

Education

High school diploma or equivalency.

Experience

Must have at least one (3) years previous experience in a comparable field.

Certifications

• Must attend Pace's Mechanic Training Program and pass examination for position.
• Must have or obtain within 30 days of being hired, a valid "B" Commercial Driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements and the ability to operate Pace equipment.
• Must have or obtain, within 60 days of being hired, air conditioning certification, forklift certification, and underground tank certificate.

Proficiencies

• Must have or purchase a set of hand tools sufficient for performing the duties of the position.
• Must be able to operate all company equipment and have knowledge of the service area.
• Must pass Pace Building Maintenance examination.
• Must have basic administrative skills, including typing and data entry skills.
• Must have the ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals and to operate test equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, and capable of lifting 75 pounds to waist height, maintaining and carrying that weight for a minimum of ten feet.
• This is a safety sensitive position.

Working Conditions

The performance of these duties may be required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work is performed in a shop environment, where the employee may be exposed to loud noises and noxious odors and other environmental conditions.

This position is not eligible for hybrid schedule or telecommuting.

Salary

$34.64/hr
