Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial, commercial or domestic purposes.
Operating a variety of standard power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
Evaluating electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs.
Performing a wide variety of electrical maintenance tasks to service, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain electrical equipment and machinery.
Conducting preventive maintenance programs and keeping maintenance records.
Providing training and guidance to junior and apprentice electricians as needed.
Reading blueprints or technical diagrams before doing work.
Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
Keeping abreast of advances in technology and job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
