Senior Materials and Failure Analysis Technician (SIMS)

Job Summary: A Senior Materials and Failure Analysis Technician (SIMS) is responsible for supporting materials characterization and failure analysis activities through proficient operation of SIMS and analytical laboratory equipment. This position serves as a key technical resource supporting the Principal Materials and Failure Analysis Engineer in establishing and operating Coherent Sherman's SIMS laboratory. The technician performs sample preparation, data collection, laboratory operations, equipment support, and failure analysis activities while ensuring high-quality results, safe operation, and timely support for internal customers. The technician also contributes to process development, laboratory startup activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and training of other technicians and engineers.
