Position Summary

The Filling Technician I is responsible for the accurate filling, labeling, and processing of products in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role supports production operations by preparing materials, operating filling equipment, completing production documentation, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to build technical manufacturing skills and advance into semi-automated equipment operation and other production roles within the organization.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience operating filling or production equipment is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn manufacturing equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of the metric system.
  • Ability to accurately follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and Lean manufacturing principles (PPI/5S).

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate pipettes, peristaltic pumps, automated labeling systems, and other filling equipment.
  • Set up and operate automated filling lines while following approved SOPs and production procedures.
  • Complete production documentation accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner.
  • Stage raw materials and maintain work-in-process inventory.
  • Perform in-process quality inspections to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and 5S standards.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including GMP and departmental procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production schedules and departmental goals.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full-face respirator.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift:
  • Up to 10 lbs regularly
  • Up to 25 lbs frequently
  • Up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals, solvents, biohazardous materials, and within controlled manufacturing environments while following all safety procedures and required hazardous waste training.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $20.00–$22.50.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
