We are seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading experience to support our cheese manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll be hands-on with the equipment that keeps our production running—ensuring our systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

From cheese processing to packaging, your work will directly impact product quality, equipment reliability, and overall plant performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (mechanical and electrical)
  • Weld and fabricate parts to repair or improve production equipment
  • Read and follow blueprints to support equipment modifications and installations
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues to minimize downtime
  • Inspect systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and needed repairs
  • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
  • Analyze equipment failures and support both preventive and emergency maintenance efforts
  • Monitor system performance using gauges and testing instruments
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend tools, equipment, and process improvements
  • Document maintenance activities and prepare technical reports
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, capability, and yield
  • Assist senior technicians and collaborate with production teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of experience in welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, speak)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with welding and fabrication in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance practices
  • Ability to diagnose equipment issues and implement effective repairs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and occasional crawling
  • Ability to lift at least 10 lbs and work around moving machinery
  • Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying noise levels
  • Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from 35°F to 95°F+ in production areas
