At Eastside Refrigeration, we're not just fixing refrigeration and HVAC systems—we're keeping businesses operating, and customers comfortable across the Waikato.

With a team of around 30 skilled professionals and a reputation built on quality, service, and relationships, we're looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead our Service, Maintenance, and Domestic Installation divisions.

This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced service leader ready to take full ownership of a growing department, reporting directly to the General Manager.

About the Role

As our Service Manager , you'll be responsible for the leadership, performance, and profitability of our Service, Maintenance, and Domestic Installation divisions across the Hamilton area.

You'll drive the day-to-day operation of the department—overseeing scheduling and resourcing, developing your team, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring work is delivered safely, profitably, and to a high standard.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role where your decisions directly shape the department's success.

Key responsibilities include

• ✅ Leading the day-to-day operation of the Service, Maintenance, and Domestic Installation divisions
• ✅ Managing technician productivity, scheduling, and resource allocation
• ✅ Ensuring maintenance contracts and installations are delivered on time, safely, and profitably
• ✅ Driving first-time fix rates and reducing call-backs and rework
• ✅ Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers
• ✅ Managing departmental financial performance, including margins, WIP, and invoicing
• ✅ Leading, coaching, and developing your service and installation team
• ✅ Driving best-practice use of Simpro across the department
• ✅ Promoting a strong health & safety culture, including audits and toolbox meetings
• ✅ Supporting recruitment, succession planning, and apprenticeship pathways

What We're Looking For

We're interested in an experienced operations leader who combines strong technical understanding with commercial acumen and natural leadership.

You may currently be a

• Service Manager
• Operations Manager (trade services)
• Senior Service Supervisor ready to step up
• Branch Manager (HVAC, Refrigeration, or Electrical)
• Field Services Manager

To succeed you'll have

• ✔ 5+ years' experience in HVAC&R, refrigeration, mechanical services, or a related trade services industry
• ✔ Proven leadership experience managing operational teams
• ✔ Strong understanding of service and maintenance delivery
• ✔ Financial and commercial acumen
• ✔ Experience using Simpro or comparable field service software
• ✔ Strong organisational and planning skills
• ✔ Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
