Job vacancy: Sustainability Coordinator - ESG and Climate

As Sustainability Coordinator, you will be responsible to implement ESG and Climate principles for MCB Group's financing portfolio focusing on UNEPFI Principles for Responsible Banking, sustainable and transition finance strategies.

In this role you will,

• Participate in the development of sustainable finance framework and sustainable finance solutions in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders;
• Conduct eligibility assessment for projects as per MCB Group’s Green and Social Taxonomy;
• Provide support in devising ESG and Climate strategy for the Group by researching local and international frameworks and standards, regulations, and market practices. This includes identifying the opportunities and challenges to transitioning to a low carbon economy for African countries;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to calculate financed emissions of MCB Group portfolio as per defined standards;
• Provide support in raising awareness of ESG topics for the client facing team;
• Keep abreast of all changes/events/processes within the Group and at the international front concerning developments and latest practices in the ESG space.

We are looking for candidates who have a

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability/Environmental science/Engineering/Finance;
• A minimum of 6 years’ experience in sustainability management.

Candidates who possess the following qualification, will also be considered

• Certification in Climate, Nature or other ESG subjects

• A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
