SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • •Minimum 3 years' maintenance experience within the food industry, preferably dairy.
  • •Must possess an Ontario and/or Interprovincial Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – 433A license required.
  • •Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP.
  • •Strong preventative maintenance and troubleshooting ability
  • •You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skills
  • •You have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • •Experience troubleshooting mechanical/pneumatic/electrical pumps and valves

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • •Computer skills would be an asset.
  • •Experience working with a CMMS would be an asset
  • •Familiar with continuous improvement processes and methodologies would be an asset.
  • THINGS YOU WILL DO…
  • •Improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • •Repair and maintain equipment (processors, homogenizers, pasteurizers, packaging, etc)
  • •Lead local management of parts for projects and coordinate contractors’ activities as required.
  • •Check shipments when they arrive and contact suppliers for any issues or inquiries

  • •Must be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required.
  • •Physically capable of performing the demands of the job.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

•Repair plant equipment efficiently to minimize downtime of operations (internal and external);
•Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment.
•Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement programs.
