About The Role

The University of Kalba seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Director of Skills Development and Continuous Education. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that enhance the skills and competencies of students, professionals, and the broader community. The Director will lead initiatives to align the UKB’s offerings with industry needs, foster lifelong learning, and promote the university as a hub for skills development and continuous education professional development, and micro-credentials.

Program Development and Management

  • Design and implement innovative skills development and continuous education programs, including micro-credentialing initiatives, tailored to the needs of students, professionals, and the community.
  • Collaborate with academic departments, industry partners, and government entities to identify emerging skills gaps and develop relevant training programs, including stackable micro-credentials that align with industry standards.
  • Oversee the accreditation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of all non-degree programs, ensuring micro-credentials are recognized and valued by employers and institutions.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Center for Skills Development and Continuous Education, aligning with the UKB’s mission and strategic goals, with a focus on integrating micro-credentials into the broader educational ecosystem.
  • Establish partnerships with local and international organizations to enhance program offerings and create opportunities for learners.
  • Promote UKB as a leader in lifelong learning, professional development, and micro-credential innovation.

Stakeholders Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders, employers, and professional associations to ensure program relevance and impact.
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and students to identify opportunities for skills enhancement and career development.
  • Engage with alumni and community members to expand the reach and impact of continuous education programs.

Operational Oversight

  • Manage the budget, resources, and staffing of the Center for Skills Development and Continuous Education.
  • Ensure the effective marketing and promotion of programs to attract a diverse range of participants.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, using data to drive decision-making and improvements.

Innovation and Technology Integration

  • Leverage technology to deliver flexible and accessible learning opportunities, including online and hybrid programs, with a focus on digital badges and micro-credential platforms.
  • Stay abreast of trends in education, workforce development, and technology to ensure the university remains at the forefront of skills development.

Education

  • A Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in education, training, or workforce development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful skills development or continuous education programs.

Additional Requirements

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Significant experience with professional development and skills development.
