About The Role
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting operations for Mexico, ensuring compliance with local statutory and tax requirements while supporting corporate reporting standards. The role requires a strong understanding of how operational and financial processes interact across invoicing, inventory, accounts payable and general ledger activities. The successful candidate will drive accounting accuracy, improve existing processes, support the development of the local finance structure while acting as a key partner between local operations and the regional finance organization. The role reports directly to the Head of Controlling Region LAM.  
Key Responsibilities  
- Own the end-to-end accounting process for Mexico, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information. 
- Perform full financial accounting and maintain proper accounting documentation and records. 
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting packages. 
- Analyze and reconcile accounting impacts across invoicing, inventory, accounts payable, fixed assets and general ledger activities. 
- Ensure accounting transactions generated through different systems are properly reflected in statutory and management reporting. 
- Manage and maintain accounting systems, including SAP and related reporting tools. 
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, group policies and corporate reporting requirements. 
- Coordinate local compliance requirements including electronic accounting, monthly tax filings, annual declarations and other reporting obligations to the Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT).
- Support the preparation and review of tax returns and statutory filings. 
- Act as key contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks and government authorities. 
- Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation and continuous improvement, especially in currently manual accounting processes. 
- Provide guidance and support to the Junior Accountant, including oversight of Accounts Payable activities. 
- Collaborate with local, regional and global stakeholders to support the transition and stabilization of the Mexico finance structure. 
- Perform other tasks as required by the department. 
 
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Public Accountant, or equivalent Accounting degree.
- 4–8 years of progressive accounting experience in multinational or international organizations. 
- Advanced SAP skills. 
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting, statutory reporting and tax compliance. 
- Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes and ERP environments. 
- Solid knowledge of Mexican tax legislation and statutory reporting requirements. 
- Experience with electronic accounting and other local compliance obligations. 
- Strong knowledge of corporate reporting requirements. 
- Experience across multiple companies or business environments is highly valued. 
- Advanced English communication skills. 
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
