Outpatient Medical Coder

• 1.Codes and abstracts outpatient accounts daily using computer generated work ques of discharged patient encounters.
• 2.Competent in coding of Outpatient Records for both ICD-10 CM and CPT codes for both hospital and professional.
• 3.Populates correct discharge dispositions as well as applicable occurrence codes.
• 4.Reviews the record for medical necessity.
• 5.Assists other departments / offices as a coding resource.
• 6.Follows up on accounts needing additional documentation for coding.
• 7.Utilizes all specialized coding resources available for accuracy in coding.
