Experience & Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist with expanded dental procedures and duties, ensuring all materials and instruments are prepared and available
- Stay a step ahead of the doctor by knowing all necessary materials and supplies for patient treatments
- Provide clear and compassionate verbiage to explain procedures and care instructions to patients and parents
- Perform triage for parents and patients, addressing concerns and gathering relevant information
- Execute proper four-handed pass-off techniques to ensure seamless handoffs of instruments and materials during procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized operatory, adhering to infection control protocols
- Support patient comfort and anxiety management throughout dental visits
- Document patient information accurately and update records as needed
Requirements
- Current Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification required
- Previous pediatric dental experience preferred
- Knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and expanded-duty functions
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Positive attitude, patience, and team-focused mindset
