Laboratory Technician III

Renaissance College is looking for a laboratory technician III to join the team.

Laboratory Technician III

• Support Lab Technician I in setting up major health and safety rules in the laboratory
• Provide risk assessment guidance for lessons
• Manage the disposal of chemicals properly
• Purchase and keep stores of apparatus, equipment and other inventory
• Prepare materials, chemicals and apparatus for lessons, as requested by teachers for Science and related subjects
• Help students during lessons and demonstrate experiments to students when needed
• Help in the development of practical resources for students
• Act as a technology expert as tech III to support teachers
• Assist with the preparation of the Annual Wishlist Items for the following year
• Assist in ad hoc projects when required
• Any other tasks as assigned by the Sciences Head of Department

Requirements

• Laboratory Technician Diploma/Certificate or equivalent preferred
• Relevant experience in working with students from Year 7 to Year 13
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Team player
• Possess the physical capability to transport laboratory equipment and materials across different floors
• Familiar with Vernier dataloggers, Google Suite and Microsoft Suite applications
• Be able to design systems or equipment for students’ use
• Able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines

• Candidates with greater experience may be considered for a Lab Technician II role.
• Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
