About the Role

The Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center⁠ is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible fellowship-trained Neuroradiologist to join our nationally recognized academic imaging program. This is an exciting opportunity to practice within one of only two NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in New York State, where advanced imaging, multidisciplinary collaboration, and translational research are central to improving outcomes for patients with cancer.

The successful candidate will provide expert neuroradiology interpretation while collaborating closely with neurosurgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and other multidisciplinary teams caring for patients with primary and metastatic neurologic malignancies. In addition to clinical excellence, this position offers meaningful opportunities for teaching, research, and academic advancement within a state-of-the-art imaging environment.

This role is ideal for a radiologist who is passionate about academic medicine, innovative imaging technologies, multidisciplinary oncology care, and helping train the next generation of physicians.

What You’ll Do

• Provide expert interpretation of advanced neuroradiology studies utilizing state-of-the-art MRI and CT technology
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including neurosurgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and neurology to support comprehensive patient care
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborative treatment planning
• Share neuroradiology call responsibilities supported by overnight teleradiology coverage
• Contribute to clinical, translational, and imaging research initiatives alongside clinical and scientific colleagues
• Participate in educational activities by teaching residents and medical students through the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences
• Mentor trainees and contribute to a collaborative academic environment focused on continuous learning and innovation
• Support departmental quality initiatives, imaging innovation, and operational excellence
• Collaborate with community outreach initiatives that expand access to advanced imaging services across Western New York
• Foster a culture grounded in High Reliability Organization principles emphasizing patient safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

The Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center⁠ provides comprehensive diagnostic and interventional imaging services within one of the nation’s premier academic cancer centers. Faculty collaborate across oncology, surgery, pathology, radiation oncology, and translational science to deliver innovative, image-guided cancer care supported by advanced imaging technology and multidisciplinary expertise.

What You’ll Bring

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology
• Fellowship training in Neuroradiology
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of New York

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

License and Certification Requirement

1. License to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York.
2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology or Angio/Interventional Radiology.

Education and Experience

Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the field of Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, or Angio/Interventional Radiology.

NOTE

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible. A New York State Medical license is required. Completion of a neuroradiology fellowship is required.

Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills in all facets of diagnostic neuroradiology including MRI, MRA, MR perfusion, MR spectroscopy, functional MRI, DTI, CT, CTA and Head & Neck imaging. The ideal candidate should have a level of comfort with procedures including Lumbar punctures, CT guided biopsies as well as a willingness to expand services.
