About The Role
The Site Engineer will be responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day construction activities related to bridge and infrastructure works on the Projects. The role involves ensuring that construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
Your role
Site Supervision & Construction Execution
- Supervise daily site activities and monitor construction progress against approved schedules.
- Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate site activities with contractors, subcontractors, survey teams, and inspectors.
- Verify site readiness and resource availability prior to commencement of construction activities.
- Monitor workforce productivity and ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
Bridge Construction Activities
- Ensure bridge works are constructed within approved tolerances and alignment requirements.
- Coordinate with survey teams to verify setting-out, levels, and structural positioning.
- Infrastructure Works Coordination
- Coordinate interfaces between bridge construction and related infrastructure activities.
- Identify and address site constraints affecting construction progress.
Quality Control & Inspections
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections prior to consultant and client inspections.
- Coordinate Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs).
- Monitor workmanship and identify non-conformances for corrective action.
- Support preparation of as-built records and construction documentation.
Engineering & Technical Support
- Review drawings and technical documents before execution of works.
- Assist in resolving construction-related technical issues.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, and construction teams regarding site queries and design clarifications.
- Verify compliance with approved shop drawings and construction details.
- Support implementation of engineering changes and approved revisions.
Planning & Reporting
- Monitor daily progress and report work completed against project targets.
- Identify delays, risks, and productivity concerns and recommend corrective measures.
- Prepare daily site reports and progress updates.
- Support project planning teams by providing construction progress information.
- Assist with resource forecasting and look-ahead planning activities.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Participate in site meetings and technical coordination meetings.
- Maintain effective communication between site and office teams.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure all site activities comply with project HSE requirements.
- Promote safe working practices across all construction activities.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
About you
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineering registration is advantageous.
- Additional certifications related to construction management or bridge engineering are preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in civil and infrastructure construction projects.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant bridge construction experience.
- Experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly desirable.
- Experience working with main contractors, consultants, or PMC organizations is preferred.
