About the role

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in hands-on trades. You'll acquire experience repairing structures and fixtures crafted from wood, plywood, and various materials. In this pivotal role, you'll construct a wide array of items, including housing features like walls, floorboards, and frames.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will report to and be mentored by the company's Carpenter to conduct inspections, renovations, and new builds on AACo’s properties throughout the Barkly region. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing drawings and selecting timbers and other materials for layout.
  • Cutting and assembling materials.
  • Repairing existing fittings and nailing panels.
  • Ordering timber materials.
  • Installing exterior wall cladding and window frames.
  • Assembling wooden structures and installing wood joints.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to liaise with various stakeholders and clients.
  • Enjoyment of manual work and possessing a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work towards and meet deadlines.
