About The Role
Position Summary
The Site Supervisor is responsible for all project-related construction site performance and provides overall onsite administrative and technical management of the construction project site. The duties of the Site Supervisor include direct construction labor as needed, coordination of all field activities, and working with unskilled to skilled volunteers, while maintaining the project’s schedule and providing quality control. The site supervisor contributes to and is responsible for the construction of each project working in conjunction with volunteers and subcontractors.
Supervision Received
The Construction Site Supervisor works under the direction of the Construction Manager .
Key Performance Indicators to Measure Performance
- Meet or exceed timelines for the construction build schedule
- Provide daily project reports to Construction Manager
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations on job sites

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in residential construction
- Ability to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position
- Experience working with volunteers is preferred
- Technical Skills - thorough knowledge of and experience in all aspects of construction including technology, equipment, and construction methods required for effective performance by subcontractors, volunteers, and partner families
- Organization Skills - the ability to set priorities, assign tasks, and function under deadlines and shift priorities, and identify and resolve problems
- Must be able to communicate appropriately keeping a professional demeanor
- Supervisory Skills - ability to engage, train, supervise and evaluate a range of personnel who perform a variety of trades
- Computer literacy in MS Office applications Outlook and Word
- Forklift certification required
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License and good driving record
- Employment offer will be contingent upon passing a criminal background check
- Criminal Background check subject to Senior Staff review
- Drug test
Physical / Mental Demands
The ability to continuously stand or walk for eight hours per day. Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs and lift frequently. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to verbally communicate clearly in-person and on the telephone. Visual acuity sufficient to satisfactorily perform and review construction work to ensure building safety and quality control.
Working Conditions/Environment
Work is typically performed on a job site and throughout the warehouse. Position requires exposure to outdoor temperatures including extreme cold and heat. Days and hours of work are Tuesday through Saturday, 8-hour days, 40 hours a week. Work outside/regular work schedule is expected.

Site Supervision
- Performs all hands-on construction tasks as directed by the Construction Manager with excellence workmanship
- Supervise daily construction efforts to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design and schedule requirements
- Communicate site rules regarding safety procedures to volunteers and enforce those rules
- “Fixes” any construction task by volunteers performed below acceptable standards
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite volunteer functions along with material control and logistics
- Provide technical assistance, construction document interpretation, and recommendation of construction methods and equipment as required
- Assist in developing and implementing the weekly project schedule, providing daily project reports, and performing all necessary field paperwork as required
- Coordinate with staff to prepare for special events, such as dedications and kick offs
- Organize, inventory and maintain the affiliates’ trailers and tools
Training
- Provide construction skills training for volunteers of widely varying ability levels
- Provide daily site safety and Habitat introduction meetings to ensure continuous safety compliance
Personnel Supervision
- Select and assign volunteers according to their abilities to the jobs that are needed
