Senior Medical Staff Specialist

A Day in the Life 

• Sr Specialist Lead – Medical Staff Services will serve as the key Medical Staff Office contact for local CMO, local medical staff leadership, committees, sections, and departments and provide MSO resources for continuity of medical staff organization activities.  Participate in other hospital committees, as appropriate.  Responsible for all local medical staff office related duties, including working closely with the system credentialing office as it relates to initial appointments and provider reappointments.

What’s Required  

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Strong ability to work independently, mentor team members and/or medical staff leaders/members.
• Minimum five (5) years' experience performing medical staff and/or credentialing functions  
• Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Staff Manager (CPMSM) and/or Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or eligibility and willingness to be certified. Exceptions may be made based on extensive other background.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Joint Commission, NCQA, Medicare Conditions of Participation, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards as they relate to Medical Staff Services.
