INTERNAL ONLY - CAD-GIS Information Technician

General Summary

Create, maintain, and produce GIS maps and records for internal and external use. Assist in advancing projects efficiency in use of electronic mapping tools for daily field work. Prepare mapping exhibits and all other documents for use by project staff. Interface with coworkers for exchange of information related to scope of work.

Education and Experience

• Knowledge of all materials and equipment involved in broadband/telephone operations
• Previous experience as a staking engineer, installer-repair person, cable splicer, central office, and/or construction is helpful.
• Familiar with rural telephone company OSP equipment and associated test equipment.
• RUS knowledge is a plus.
• Familiar with a variety of OSP construction methods and various types of copper and fiber optic cable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and thorough knowledge of AutoCAD/ESRI/Google Earth is required.
