Senior Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

A fast-growing, venture-backed legal tech startup (Series A) based in New York City is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join their small, high-output engineering team on-site. This company sits at the intersection of AI and legal services, building agentic tools that help expert lawyers review and execute commercial contracts at unprecedented speed.

You'll be a full-stack engineer with a strong frontend emphasis, owning product development end-to-end and working directly with founders to shape the core platform. Visa sponsorship is available for this role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, build, and deploy scalable systems and cutting-edge agentic AI tools to accelerate contract review workflows for the in-house legal team.
• Take full ownership of new product features from concept to production, with a focus on crafting intuitive, lawyer-facing interfaces.
• Work closely with the founding team to define technical priorities and establish a robust, maintainable codebase.
• Develop and integrate large language model (LLM) powered tools to drive the core platform.
• Contribute to a high-energy, collaborative, in-person engineering culture centered on moving fast and shipping product.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in recruiting as the team scales.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-haves

• 3+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks — React, Vue, or Svelte.
• Demonstrated experience building frontend AI tools, agents, or AI-driven interfaces.
• Background at a high-growth, venture-backed startup.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in New York City.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM integrations (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar APIs).
• Genuine interest in AI and/or legal technology.
• Experience with Go or Rust.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: $250,000 – $300,000 USD annually
• Equity participation
• Visa sponsorship available

This is a fully on-site role based in New York City, NY. The team works together in-person and values the energy and collaboration that comes with it.
