About The Role
WNM Communication has an immediate opening for a Utility Construction Laborer. We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Construction Laborer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment, perform manual labor tasks, and contribute to the successful completion of construction projects.
Responsibilities include placing and maintaining cable within underground conduit system. Maintain rights-of-way, including patching roadways and backfill areas. Installs and removes aerial cable. Installs and maintains pedestals, poles, carrier sites and equipment at subscriber locations. Operates digging and trenching equipment.
Must be able to obtain a CDL license within a year of employment. Must have a good driving record
Must have or be willing to obtain tower certification to work at extended heights of 100 feet or more with the assistance of equipment or by climbing.
Travel is required. Lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials and equipment.
- Assist with all construction tasks, including excavation, and finishing work.
- Clean and prepare construction sites, including clearing debris and materials.
- Operate construction equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Work at heights, including ladders and scaffolding, and in confined spaces.
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Skills
- Ability to lift 75 pounds, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in construction or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
